Feature: Tarbena Miniatures

Tarbena is renowned for unique miniature furniture, accurately scaling down of the original to the specialised finish, giving age, character and charm. True appreciation can only be achieved by close examination. Several processes are used to create the ageing effect, aiming to imitate the original antique as closely as possible, but also giving each piece its own individuality and character.

Alan & Barbara make furniture from most periods and welcome commissions. Many of their pieces can be seen in museums and collections throughout the world. They use various woods with the appropriate grain for each piece. Some are delicately hand painted too, and they also have a large range of lacquered furniture with chinoiserie decoration.
