Kat Picot the founder of Shrunk Magazine, will be talking to us straight after her make-along demo on Instagram Live. Kat will answer our questions about how she came to set up a modern miniatures magazine in lockdown, what is exciting her in the miniatures world right now & what is her next project in miniature.
Kat Picot has been immersed in the world of miniatures for over fifteen years starting out as a Saturday girl for a specialist doll’s house shop (dream job!). After studying BA History of Design, Culture & Society Kat began her career in hobby and craft publishing.
Later she spent 5+ years working with digital and design agencies in London whilst continuing to pursue miniature projects and running online miniatures store Four Little Walls. Mini highlights include appearing on Channel 4 with a bespoke doll’s house and more recently collaborating with the V&A Museum of Childhood hosting an accessible doll’s house workshop.
Kat has recently completed a Masters degree in Arts & Lifestyle Journalism with the London College of Communication. Based in Brighton, UK, Kat freelances for digital and creative agencies alongside running Shrunk magazine.
We will be announcing more information on her “make-along” which will be taking place at 4.30pm on Sunday 16th May on Instagram LIVE soon.
