Tuesday 18 May 17.30-20.30
10 Students maximum.
Students will make the pop-up book published in 1898 for the occasion of the Coronation of Queen Wilhelmina. A simple edition in those days, especially because it had to be accessible and affordable for all citizens of the Netherlands. The book tells the story of the life of princess Wilhelmina until her coronation. The book contains 4 double illustrations, where the double illustration is glued folded on the first. When unfolded, the second illustration is then revealed. 2 copies of this book will be created in this class, one in full colour & one in sepia.
A “Workshop Pack” will be sent to participants prior to the class containing materials needed for the workshop.
Students will need the following additional materials & tools:
Exacto brake blade knife . cutting mat . magnifiers or reading glasses . one hair paint brush . coloured pencils green, yellow red and blue . hobby lamp (recommended)
2020 was Tine’s 25th anniversary of making miniature books. She is now one of the best respected miniaturists working in Europe & has been attending the London Dollshouse Festivals since 2001. In 2015, Tine entered the 1st ever Perfection in Miniature Awards. The piece she entered was a collaboration with another LDF exhibitor & close friend Rachel Roet. Together they created a beautiful miniature copy of “Songs of Shakespeare” with an embroidered cover. This went on to take 3rd place in the competition.
Tine has taught classes all over the world & is enthusiastic about passing on the skills she has learn over the last 25 years to other enthusiasts.
