Workshop Alert: “Grace Chair” with Elizabeth Joseph

Make Your Own ‘Grace’ Armchair – A tribute to Grace Jones’ song ‘La Vie En Rose’

Sunday February 6th 3pm – 5pm
Wednesday February 9th 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Location: Elizabeth’s Studio via Zoom! (zoom link will be emailed to you a week prior to the workshop)
Fee: £35.00 including materials. (+ booking fee & additional postal costs if outside the UK)

Stay at home in the cosy and feel all creative when you hear the Postwoman drop your ‘Grace’ Armchair Box through your letterbox. Everything you need, including glue in an easy-squeeze bottle, is in your Workshop Box, and join me on Zoom, just follow my directions and make-along with me.

You can customise your ‘Grace’ Chair using the fabric roses and Grace’s lovely red lips, and add sequins that are all included in your Box. Or if you like to embroider, paint, applique… you can embellish your Chair as much or as little as you wish!

There’ll be sultry Grace Jones tunes playing in the background as we make our Chairs together. Have a glass of wine (or two) handy and we’ll enter the magical world of miniatures in our own unique way… We will imagine a dollhouse-sized Grace lounging on her miniature throne and I will talk about my journey into the Dolls house world and inspire you to start creating your own unique Dolls house or start collecting unique miniatures that you can customise yourself.

Use the fabric as a pattern and use your own fabrics if you prefer, sew on small pieces of jewellery, beads and attitude to your miniatures, or simply enjoy learning a new craft.

The Workshop will take around 1.5 hours. Don’t rush away, stay awhile at the end and ask me about my creative process.

Measurements of the Chair: Height: 14cm, Width: 9cm, Depth: 6.5cm. The scale is 1:12

What’s in your Box? Everything you need to make your ‘Grace’ Chair is in your Workshop Box. All materials are provided! Wooded plywood pieces, ‘African’ fabric, glue, sequins, foam, printed roses and lips. You will receive your box by post (tracked by Royal Mail). If you live outside the UK, please email us for more info on additional postage costs.

Elizabeth founded the Black Girl Dollshouse Club to encourage everyone to have a go at making a family heirloom for themselves. She makes her classes accessible to all & they are ideal for people just discovering the dolls house world. This is our 1st collaboration with Elizabeth & we look forward to working with her again in the future.

For delivery outside the UK please enquire by email HERE as it may take two weeks to arrive to addresses outside the UK.

BOOKINGS FOR THESE WORKSHOPS ARE NOW CLOSED. We hope to do more in the future.
