Featured Artisan : Delph Miniatures.

Unfortunately, Delph Miniatures are currently unable to attend our live events in London, so we thought we would catch up with Kathy to see how they have been preparing for the Online Showcase.

“I’ve been taking lots of photos today specially for our Showcase page, and to add to our own dedicated LDF Showcase page on our website.  I’ve had a wonderful time playing ‘dolls house’ as Lawrence calls it, basically arranging scenes and then rearranging them to feature something else!

For some time I’ve been wanting to use a studio setting that I made for our appearance on Steph’s Packed Lunch back in 2021. It started off as a Dollshouse Emporium Walled Garden kit, but I turned it into a model based on the studio set for the show. After completion I could see that it would make a great background for taking photos for our website and advertising!

I was desperate to set it  up as a Gym, with the backdrop of the large glass windows in the back overlooking the dock to the buildings on the other side; but for a while I have struggled to get all our gym range in stock together! But with a few new additions from Ryan and the 3D Printer, and Charlotte needing photos for the showcase, it spurred me on to complete a couple of the larger pieces of equipment to get everything together.

I am so pleased with the result!!

The gym looks full of colour and interest, and with a coffee bar at the side featuring Ryan’s new Coffee Mugs and Paper Cups for the finishing touch to our Espresso Machine, it looks great. Looking so real. I had to get Margaret to place her hand in shot to add a sense of scale! Smaller gym accessories printed by Ryan are great additions, ‘Rubber’ Hexagonal Dumbbell sets can look serious in Black or fun in colours that match our gym range branding of red, orange and yellow.

I might decide to sell some of the specialist items that were in the original studio set from our Showcase page, at the moment I can’t quite decide whether I will keep the TV Cameras as a souvenir or let someone else enjoy them. They might go in my cabinet at home alongside two of my PIMA entries”.
