Card Payment Facility
How we take payments on your behalf on our card machine at our shows.
Most customers who come to our shows expect to be able to pay for goods with a card. Less & less people are now bringing cash to he show, so it is important you are able to accept card payments if possible.
We recommend that you use your own card payment device (we use Square but there are others). With most, you just need to download their app & then will be able to take payments on your phone. There are charges involved, but sending customers out of the show to get cash from an ATM, runs the risk that they will change their minds, or not return.
In some cases, we understand that it is not possible for you to take card payments yourself. Overseas exhibitors in particular may have problems finding a provider who operates outside their country. For this reason we do have a service available that means you can take payments via our card machine. Here is how it works:
- Register with us. This is free of charge.
- At the show, make sure you have some card facility forms (CFF). There will be one in your welcome pack & you can collect more from the front desk.
- When taking a payment, fill in the CFF with your details, the customers details & the amount to be charged.
- Ask the customer to take the CFF to our front desk where we will take payment of the amount shown on the form.
- We will give a receipt to the customer to prove payment has ben made.
- The customer returns the receipt to you & you can hand over their purchases.
- LDF will refund the amount owed (minus the processing fees directly to your bank account/paypal the week after the show.
LDF processing fees are 3.5% of transaction value with a minimum charge of £3. Because of these fees, this service is only suitable for larger sales of £100 or more.
Most customers are happy for you to add the processing fee to their bill, but remember, the amount you fill in on the CFF is the amount we will deduct from the customers card.
