The Perfection in Miniature Awards – Juniors is back in 2026 with judging & display of entries taking place at our Christmas Show

The Perfection in Miniature Awards (PIMA) is all about promoting the amazing hobby of creating our world or other worlds in miniature. After the success of the PIMA Juniors in 2025, they are back again this year, culminating in the awards & PIMA showcase at our Christmas Show on November 28th & 29th at Kensington Town Hall.

Entries will need to be delivered to Kensington Town Hall by 2pm on Saturday November 28th (judging will take place after this) or the KDF Office between November 20th – 26th.

If you are an enthusiastic miniaturist, aged under 25, this is the competition for you.  Please read the information below carefully (more details are available on our website) and get in touch with us if you have any questions.

CATAGORIES

My Room
This category is for children under 14.

We want you to create a room inspired by the festive season. It can be a room in your house (maybe Christmas lunch, or the night before Christmas) or it could be inspired by your favourite Christmas/festive character/story/film or just a scene from your imagination. The room must be made in a box (similar to shoe box size) & can be any scale (1:12 or smaller). We expect that at least one item will be made from scratch by you. 

My Signature Piece
Ages 14 – 24

We want you to create the most amazing miniature you can for this category.  Do you make furniture, sew, throw pots or even work in metal or glass?  Whatever your speciality, we want to see a single piece made by you, using your special skills. These pieces must be in 1:12 scale.

RULES

  1. All entries must be made by the applicant. (please make it clear on the registration form, which bits were made from scratch by you)
  2. Entries must be registered with KDF by October 25th 2026. Confirmation of registration will be emailed by KDF on receipt of a completed registration form.
  3. Entries must be delivered to the Kensington Town Hall on Saturday November 28th before 2pm. If  you are not able to deliver your entry to the Town Hall, you can deliver it to the LDF offices between November 20-26th 2026  . (Address is The Studio, 70a Lawford Road, London N1 5BL). We will only accept hand deliveries for room boxes, but ‘Signature items’ can be posted to us.  Please let us know when to expect your entry.  All applicants will be given a number for their entry. Only the item listed on the registration form will be accepted.  
  4. Please state you age as of October 25th 2026 on the registration form.
  5. A minimum of 1 item in the room box competition must be scratch made by the entrant. Box measurements must not exceed 30cm wide x 17cm high x 17cm deep.  Any box can be used.
  6. All entries will be photographed & displayed in the PIMA Showcase during the KDF Christmas Show at Kensington Town Hall. 
  7. Entries cannot be offered for sale or displayed at other shows or on social media/websites etc prior to the competition. 
  8. The Judges decision is final. Judges will be confirmed soon.
  9. Winners will be announced at the KDF Christmas Show at approx 4pm on Sunday November 29th 2026
  10. LDF is not responsible for any loss or damage to the miniature items in question.  
  11. We cannot return any of the room boxes entered into the competition, but they can be collected from the KDF show on Sunday November 29th after 4pm.  Entries in the Signature competition can be returned by post if postage labels & postage fees are included with your entry.
  12. LDF are not responsible if the competition is cancelled prior to the KDF Christmas Show due to unforeseen circumstances.
