The Perfection in Miniature Awards have become an important part of our annual calendar & are always something we are very excited about. The competition returned to it usual home of the Summer Show this year & we were pleased to have so many entires from new exhibitors.

Ahmed Al Thani, a collector of miniatures & a friend of Kensington Dollshouse Festival, came up with the idea for the PIMA back in 2015. He wanted to encourage our talented makers to really push themselves & create something that usually, they wouldn’t have the need to do. Often makers get caught up with orders & commissions, which makes it hard to focus on creating something new.

Not only was Ahmed the founder of this competition but he is also the sponsor & provides an incredibly generous prize package that can be a great help to our hard working craftsmen.

Judging the competition is always hard, as there is such variety in the work that is entered, but our experienced judges are up for the challenge & there is not too much disagreement in choosing the winners. Judges for the 2022 competition were Ahmed Al Thani, Caroline Hamilton & Susan Rogers.

As usual, all the entries were on display at the KDF Summer Show. This is an incredibly varied collection of work from our talented makers & once again the visitors to our show were able to vote for their favourite entries in the ‘People’s Choice Award’ (PCA).

The gallery below shows all entries in the 2022 Perfection in Miniature Awards & we will be posting more stories about the entries later this year.
